World War II German Black Piped NSDAP Officer Visor Hat

This hat is a nice example of this hat with the gold color braided chinstrap, metal party eagle and multi-piece metal oak leaves gold wash wreath and silver cockade emblem on the front.

t is about a size 56.  It's maker mark is a double EREL mark, with his initials inside, as well.  This is a view of the inside of the hat here.

The leather visor and all cloth is in very good to near excellent condition, showing very slight signs of routine wear and stains to the leather sweat band.

The cover has a brown velvet headband and a caramel brown twill cover.  These are view of the right side.

Walter Buch was a Major in the German Army, World War I.  He became a NSDAP Party Member in 1922.  On August 1923, at Nuremberg, leader of the SA in Franconia.  He was at the Beerhall Pustch in 1923, and was at BAD Wyessee during the Roehm Pustch and allegedly at Roehms killing at the Stadelheim Prison in Munich.  He committed suicide in 1949.

He first joined the NSDAP 09.12.1922 with NSDAP-Nr. 13,726; Party banned after Munich Putsch of 09.11.1923; rejoined with
Nr. 7,733 on 15.06.1925.

This is a 830 Hallmarked and maker marked shallow bowl. It measures 10-5/8 by 6-7/8 inches oval and it is 1-3/4 inches deep.

This is an unmarked (probably heavy silver plate) heating element for a chafing dish.  It is designed for a 3 by 2 inch oval cavity. It measures 3-1/3 by 2-1/2 inches oval and it is 2 inches deep. It has a three inch handle to extinguish the flame

This brush has a 5 digit number "C5706" marked on one end. It has no other maker or content marked. It has the A over H runic style monogram. It measures 2 by 7 inches oval and it is 1-3/4 inches high.

The specifics of these pins are as follows: They are marked as made by Assmann, indicated by the stylized "A" hallmark located in the center, reverse side of the wreath. Above the hallmark are the words "GES. GESCH.", the German equivalent of "Pat. Pend." This indicates the Assmann Company applied for the original patent for the political eagle Hitler always wore. This also implies the pins are very early, perhaps even prototypes. The leftmost portion of the first "G" is slightly occluded. The obverse side of the pin is comprised of a stylized eagle, with "pointed wings," grasping a wreath; within the wreath is a swastika, the emblem of National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP) as adopted in 1933. The left wing has 8 flight feathers; the right has 9 flights (from observer's point of view.) The pin is approximately .750 gold (18K).

The measurements are as follows: Wingtip to wingtip: 2.07 cm; Top of head to bottom of wreath: 1.70 cm; Horizontal width of wreath: 0.80 cm; Thickness at wreath, centered on swastika: 0.16 cm; Length of pin, closed: 1.60

This globe is completely in German and shows the world political divisions as they existed in 1941 prior to Pearl Harbor and the US entry into the war.  The German borders are shown to include conquest of Poland and the annexation of Austria and occupation of France.

There is an eagle maker marks on the Pacific Ocean, just above the US Territory of Hawaii. Of additional interest are the Zeppelin Airship routes to North and South America, the Mediterranean and Middle East, and the around the world route of the Graf Zeppelin. the  and a view from the  showing the very detailed embossed eagle.

It measures 14 inches (35cm) in diameter, the stand measuring 21-1/2 high with a walnut base 8 inches in diameter.  There is an embedded 1 inch diameter German compass with heavy beveled glass crystal in the base. Magnetic north is indicated for the globe's location in Germany.

The condition is near excellent throughout.  There is no damage, flaws or imperfection apparent.

This is a very rare globe, as it was early wartime production and the borders and political boundaries underwent significant changes in the next year.

This book is heavily embellished with gold leaf on the paper edges and gilt accents on the completely leather covered wooden hard board covers.  The edge treatment is impressed oak leaves and acorns, with a pair of gilded brass cover closures.

There are no apparent artist or maker marks on the covers or marbled end papers. All interior pages are blank. There is some warping to the front cover wood, apparent in the images.  There is also a single square brass pin cover missing. This is a view of the back and a view from the front showing the very detailed embossed eagle.

It measures 15 inches by 11-1/2 by 2-1/4 inches.

The condition is very good to near excellent, excepting the warpage of the front cover board and one missing brass reinforcement cap.

This is a red marble-like stone that was taken from the Berghof at the close of WWII by a member of the 101st Airborne Infantry Division.  I have several pieces about this size.  If you need another one, please advise.

This is a clock made for export in Germany before WWII. It is dated 1937 on the face and was intended for English-speaking people of England and the US, probably for the German-American Bund groups active at the time.

It has Hitler's first name in the Anglo variant "Adolph", and marked GERMANY on the face. The winding keys are marked in English.

This is a heavy cast iron skunk cast in three pieces.

It has Hitler's face painted on the front, and HIROHITO and MUSSOLINI's names cast into the back of the tail with an arrow suggestively pointing to the skunk's rear end.

This is a plaque with a transparent cover showing three dried (formerly) live edelweiss flowers and conveying greetings from Nuremberg, the site of the Party Day rallies. The legend at the top states the flower is Hitler's favorite flower.

It has an EMIL BERNREUTHER MÜNCHEN raised maker marks on the back. There is some slight damage to the back, not noticeable in normal display nor visible from the front.

It measures 3 inches in diameter.

This is an oval printed color scene of Hitler with a scene of birch trees and painted forestry scene on a fur tree slab.

It has unreadable stamped maker marks and numbered 319 on the back. There is some moisture damage to the back. There are some tears and spotting damage to the front and the majority of the wooden bead frame is missing, as shown.
