This photograph is included here to show several examples of the wool felt 2nd Division Indian patches, service hash marks, and rank chevrons with the band lyre incorporated into the design. It is also VERY unusual in that there are at least four negro (Colored) troops in this integrated unit. As this photo was taken at the 10th Annual American Legion Convention in October, 1923, at San Antonio, Texas -- it is very uncommon to see black troops pictured with any other race but white officers. The unit is identified as the "2nd Division Composite Band, J. E. Osborne Conducting."
Note there are a number of career NCOs and officers pictured, some with 18 years or more service. Note also the French Fourragere in wear from WWI wartime service in France.
The condition is generally good, with some wrinkles, edge and corner wear, as shown. It is mounted on a flat mat, and will require special packaging for shipment.
The photo is shown in close-up views here -- left side -- right side.
