Cuff Titles and Hat Titles

This is an all-original German Waffen-SS " Sachsen" Cufftitle 

SS-3 is always referred to as "Sonderkommando Sachsen" So, this is an SD cuff title.

Here are overall views of the front and back of the entire cuff. It has tags present & measures approximately 19 inches long  

The cuff title is woven, with 7 silk floss thread borders top and bottom and was removed from a uniform.

The overall condition is used, very good to near excellent, except as noted above.

This cuff title is still attached to the cuff portion of the original uniform sleeve fragment, apparent in the images.

It has no tags present. It measures approximately 15 inches long. There is some fading on one side of the title, as shown. The cuff title is woven, with 7 silk floss thread borders top and bottom.

The overall condition is used, very good to near excellent, except as noted above.

It has an RZM SS maker tag present. It measures 17  inches long with unfinished ends and 1-1/16 inches wide. The cuff title is woven, with Sütterlin script letters.

It measures 7-3/4 inches long, as shown. The cuff title is woven, with silver bullion wire block Latin letters, with 7 silver thread borders top and bottom.

This cuff title was authorized in October 1935 for luftwaffe pilots who could prove they flew in Boelcke's fighter squadron in WWI. Boelcke was the first German flying corps member to be awarded the Pour le Mérite, and his squadron was second only to the Red Baron's in fame. There were VERY few who rated this cuff title, among them NSFK Gruppenführer von Bülow and Bruno Loerzer, and Generalmajor Dipl. Ing. Gerhard Bassenge.
