About Snyder's Treasures
Snyder's Treasures is a small reference site on historical militaria: wartime photographs, edged weapons, decorations, insignia, uniform hardware, and the printed paper that surrounded them.
Where the site came from
This address has carried militaria material since at least 2010. In its first life it was a dealer's catalogue, with item photographs, gallery pages, and listings for pieces that have long since sold. Those listings are gone. People still follow old links to them, so each retired page now points to the reference page that covers the same kind of object. A link to an old medals page lands on the Iron Cross, an old bayonet page lands on edged weapons, and so on.
What it covers
The pages run from the First World War through the middle of the twentieth century, with one page per category. Each one explains how the objects were made, which features separate a period piece from a later copy, and where to find dated examples in public collections. The full list is on the archive home page.
Some categories include objects tied to Nazi Germany. They appear because they reached the collector market through the same channels as everything else, and they are described the same way: as historical objects with dates, makers, and construction details.
What it doesn't do
The site doesn't buy, sell, appraise, or authenticate individual pieces, and it doesn't take consignments. If you need a judgment on a specific object, a specialist auction house or a museum curator in that field is the right call.
