This is a very unusual CUSTOM made one-of-a-kind stag
handle Merrill's Marauders identified CBI Fighting
Knife.
This knife was used by T/SGT M. McClure of the 5307th Composite Unit (Provisional), more commonly known as Merrill's Marauders. The unit was renamed from the 5207th Composite Regiment Provisional when BG Merrill took command in 1944, as generals were not authorized to command a regiment, the designation was change to "Unit" to avoid the technicality. These are views of the left and right of the grip. This is a close-up of the ID marks on the scabbard. They read T/SGT M. McClure / 31241169 / 5307th C.U.P. / CBI -- 1943-44. The knife is otherwise not marked. The knife is made of Alpha Titanium. It measures 11 inches long with 6 inch edges. It has a triangular cross section shape. The handle is nylon parachute cord wrapped. It is extremely lightweight and perfectly balanced. The condition is used, frequently sharpened, otherwise near excellent throughout. |

This is an very nice example of a Middle East theater

This is a very comfortable knife to hold (considering it is a knuckle knife). The lobe rests in the palm of the hand to absorb shock and to aid holding it when slippery from use. The bulbous bolo style blade is sharp on both sides. It had rounded dragon's teeth knuckles on the side opposite the lobe. It measures 15-1/2 inches long overall with a 10-1/4 inch long blade that is a full 2-1/4 inches wide at the widest part and 1-1/4 inches wide at the grip. These are the grip left and right side views. This knife is pictured and described on Page 55 of Fighting Knives by F.J. Stevens as figures 270. It has no marker marks and it completely sterile. The knife is used, however in overall near-excellent condition. There is some tarnish to the grip from age. The scabbard that came with the knife is included. The scabbard is marked ROBCO LTD MONTREAL 1941. |

Jodhpur City India Ceremonial Royal Wedding Knuckle Knife |
This is an very nice example of a scarce India Jodhpur
Princess silver plated combat fighting knuckle knife.
This is the same design as shown as Figures 284-287 in Frederick Stephen's Fighting Knives on page 58. He describes the knife as dated 1951 This knife was made to commemorate the splendid wedding of 19-year-old Prince Karam Singh, heir to the Maharaja of Kashmir and 16-year-old Princess Yashorajya Lakshmi, the doe-eyed granddaughter of the hereditary Premier of Nepal on April 22nd, 1950. This is a very comfortable knife to hold (considering it is a knuckle knife). The lobe rests in the palm of the hand to absorb shock and to aid holding it when slippery from use. It is a very effective design. The blade is sharp on both sides. It measures 11-1/4 inches long overall and intended to be used with either bare hand or gloved fingers. It has many markings on the handle. One one side, there is the JODHPUR CITY VOLUNTEER CORPS unit name and coat of arms. There is provision for a number, however this one is not numbered. The other side of the handle has AUSPICIOUS WEDDING PRINCESS JODHPUR APRIL 22nd 1950. The "0" is very lightly struck and it is often read as "1951". EWA-12 Sudanese Tooth Decorated Antler Grip Sword |
This is a Sudan fancy sword in traditional paint and
scabbard wraps with MANY teeth with prong horn antler
horn grips.
It is a simple straight blade short sword with a hand forged hammered Damascus type layered iron and steel blade. This is an old sword, and there is significant rusting and darkness on the blade. The wooden scabbard is very complex and well-made. There are dozens of herbivore teeth on wrapped cord tassels suspended from the waxed braided cord wrappings and trim. The wood is decorated in three color red, black, and white paint. There are tufts of (antelope?) fur and hide at the tips and sides. There is a smaller attached scabbard for a smaller knife (that knife is no longer present). The scabbard for the sword measures 22-1/2 inches. The smaller scabbard measures 9 inches long. The blade measures 13-1/2 inches long and 5-1/4 inches of grip and decorative embellishments. The grip is also decorated to match the scabbard with fur tuft, scrimshaw and waxed cording. This is an African long knife/short sword design usually

It is a double curve blade with a very sharp needle point and sharp edge. The blade is hammer forged steel showing some traces of rust spotting, with the majority of the blade bright and not polished. The blade measures 14-3/4 inches long and 5-7/8 inches of wooden grip with carved decorative embellishments that match the fitted wooden scabbard. This is a very ornate and fancy design variation of the Arabic Nimcha
style sword most usually encountered in North Africa, mostly in the
Morocco area.
It is a simple slightly curved short sword with carved decorations on the both downturned quillons, and fancy carving on both the knuckle bow and grip. There is a lot of inlay work at the area of the ricasso and langets. It appears to be rendered in low-grade gold with silver inset panels with fancy figures. EWP-16 Fancy Barong Japanese Resistance IDed Filipino Sword |
This is a South Pacific barong heavy weight long knife/short sword
with fancy spike garuda grip and IDed wooden scabbard.
This exact sword is identified on the scabbard as once belonging to Teo. G. Advincula. 1st Lt. Inf. OCCA for Capiz & Romblon. Teofilo Advincula was a Filipino who joined the Resistance against the Japanese invaders in 1942 at the age of 17. He later joined the US Army to fight the Japanese in the Philippines and Guam following the liberation of the Philippines in October, 1944. After the war, he left the army to attend the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy. He rejoined the US military by enlisting in the US Navy. He served 21 more years, retiring in 1971 as a Chief Petty Officer. He was honored in 2005 at the age of 80, being one of the last surviving Resistance Fighters. This is a photo of him receiving a US flag in his honor. You can read an article regarding his activities here. The blade measures 19 inches tip to the center of the grip. EWP-02 Dragon Spear Point |
This is a South Pacific Micronesian ceremonial heavy
watered iron ("Damascus") pattern weld raised
dragon motif and embellishments.
This is a very unusual spear point. It has a Java design (perhaps Moro), definitely South Pacific origin. The blade is difficult to date, but is most certainly early 19th or possibly 18th century. The blade has nearly identical design, featuring a winged dragon with a shaft rising from its head supporting a large crown with cross and standard with tassel (possibly Dutch influence in the design of the crown). The blade measures 8-1/2 inches tip from the stop to the tip. It is 1-1/8 inches wide at the thickest part of the leaf shaped blade. The shaft is 5-1/2 inches long and has a noticeable drill twist at the end to screw the shaft into a socket of the spear to retain it. It measures 14 inches overall. EWP-03 Moroland Phippines Exotic Weapons Identification Wall Plaque |
This is an early World War II South Pacific Micronesian
ceremonial and combat weapons theater made miniature
blade display plaque. It was a bring-back from the
Philippines in 1941 by a soldier returning before the
Japanese invasion and the fall of Bataan.
This is an unusually large size display. The smaller ones (about half this size) are a little more common. The shield shaped display board measures nearly 18 by 24 inches. The weapons are made of steel cut from beer cans and fitted with bamboo shafts on the longer pieces (spears and arrows) and teak wood handles on the blade weapons. SPAN-200 Spanish Conquistador Boarding Cutlass |
This is a heavy broad forged iron blade with a wide and flat knuckle
guard and a one-piece horn grip handle.
This is an old design typical of the Spanish Navy during the 16th century. It is short with a deep belly and a slight curve with a thick percussion and a very sharp edge. The sword appears to have been modified from a traditional cutlass guard to a more abbreviated version for land carry by a conquistador. It is slightly point heavy, balancing about 5 inches forward of the ricasso. There are no maker marks present, it shows signs of frequent sharpening, and the hammer forging is evident all along the blade. The grip and guard are shown here left and right. The blade measures 20 inches tip to the grip. The entire sword is 25-1/2 inches long overall. There is no scabbard present. |

This is a heavy broad forged iron single bitted boarding ax with a
square spike and a 19 inch carved wood handle.
This is an old design typical of the Spanish Navy during the 16th century. It has an asymmetrical blade design with the bottom curve having a more pronounced hook shape than the top of the blade. The spike has a flattened tip, either by design or impact with armor. The head is pinned to the wedge through one side, the wedge oriented perpendicular to the blade. There are no maker marks present, it shows signs of frequent use, and the hammer forging is evident all along the blade. The forged iron head is shown here left and right. The blade measures 4 inches top to the bottom and the head is 7 inches overall including the spike. The entire ax is 20 inches long overall. |
