Exotic Edged Weapons and Miniature Firearms

This knife was used by T/SGT M. McClure of the 5307th Composite Unit (Provisional), more commonly known as Merrill's Marauders. The unit was renamed from the 5207th Composite Regiment Provisional when BG Merrill took command in 1944, as generals were not authorized to command a regiment, the designation was change to "Unit" to avoid the technicality.

These are views of the left and right of the grip. This is a close-up of the ID marks on the scabbard.  They read T/SGT M. McClure / 31241169 / 5307th C.U.P. / CBI -- 1943-44.  The knife is otherwise not marked. The knife is made of Alpha Titanium.

It measures 11 inches long with 6 inch edges. It has a triangular cross section shape. The handle is nylon parachute cord wrapped.  It is extremely lightweight and perfectly balanced.

The condition is used, frequently sharpened, otherwise near excellent throughout.

These are views of the left and right of the grip. This is a close-up of the maker marks on the scabbard.  They read Army Traders "Super".  The knife is otherwise not marked.

Middle East Theater Bolo Blade Knuckle Knife and Scabbard

This is a very comfortable knife to hold (considering it is a knuckle knife). The lobe rests in the palm of the hand to absorb shock and to aid holding it when slippery from use. The bulbous bolo style blade is sharp on both sides. It had rounded dragon's teeth knuckles on the side opposite the lobe. It measures 15-1/2 inches long overall with a 10-1/4 inch long blade that is a full 2-1/4 inches wide at the widest part and 1-1/4 inches wide at the grip.

This knife is pictured and described on Page 55 of Fighting Knives by F.J. Stevens as figures 270.

It has no marker marks and it completely sterile.

The knife is used, however in overall near-excellent condition. There is some tarnish to the grip from age. The scabbard that came with the knife is included.  The scabbard is marked ROBCO LTD MONTREAL 1941.

Middle East Theater Bolo Blade Knuckle Knife and Scabbard

This is a very comfortable knife to hold (considering it is a knuckle knife). The lobe rests in the palm of the hand to absorb shock and to aid holding it when slippery from use. The bulbous bolo style blade is sharp on both sides. It had rounded dragon's teeth knuckles on the side opposite the lobe. It measures 15-1/2 inches long overall with a 10-1/4 inch long blade that is a full 2-1/4 inches wide at the widest part and 1-1/4 inches wide at the grip.

This knife is pictured and described on Page 55 of Fighting Knives by F.J. Stevens as figures 270.

It has no marker marks and it completely sterile.

The knife is used, however in overall near-excellent condition. There is some tarnish to the grip from age. The original scabbard is included.  The scabbard has no markings.

Jodhpur City India Ceremonial Royal Wedding Knuckle Knife

This is the same design as shown as Figures 284-287 in Frederick Stephen's Fighting Knives on page 58. He describes the knife as dated 1951

This knife was made to commemorate the splendid wedding of 19-year-old Prince Karam Singh, heir to the Maharaja of Kashmir and 16-year-old Princess Yashorajya Lakshmi, the doe-eyed granddaughter of the hereditary Premier of Nepal on April 22nd, 1950.

This is a very comfortable knife to hold (considering it is a knuckle knife). The lobe rests in the palm of the hand to absorb shock and to aid holding it when slippery from use. It is a very effective design. The blade is sharp on both sides. It measures 11-1/4 inches long overall and intended to be used with either bare hand or gloved fingers.

It has many markings on the handle.  One one side, there is the JODHPUR CITY VOLUNTEER CORPS unit name and coat of arms.  There is provision for a number, however this one is not numbered.  The other side of the handle has AUSPICIOUS WEDDING PRINCESS JODHPUR APRIL 22nd 1950.  The "0" is very lightly struck and it is often read as "1951".

The knife is used, however in overall near-excellent condition. The original scabbard is included.

The blade measures 13-1/2 inches long and 3-1/4 inches wide.  It measures 18 inches overall out of the scabbard and 18-1/2 inches overall in the scabbard.

The condition is near excellent with deep darkness in the iron blade.

The blade measures 16 inches long and 8 inches wide at the top curve, edge to point.  It measures 25-1/2 inches overall.

The handle is unusual, with a three lobe wooden pommel area and a wrought iron wrapped handle one quarter of the way up from the bottom.

This appears to date to the late 19th century.  The iron is very dark and shows years of age.

It is a simple inward curved short sword with carved decorations on the both sides of the blade and an inscription of a verse from the Koran on the left side of the blade.

The blade measures 21-1/4 inches long and 8-1/2 inches of grip and decorative embellishments.  The grip is 4 inches wide at the top edges of the thick wings.  There is a long narrow fuller running the length of the blade next to the spine to within 2 inches of the tip. It measures 27 inches long overall.

This appears to date to the 19th century.  The iron is very dark and shows years of age.

The condition is near excellent with deep darkness in the iron blade.

It is a simple straight blade short sword with a hand forged hammered Damascus type layered iron and steel blade. This is an old sword, and there is significant rusting and darkness on the blade.

The wooden scabbard is very complex and well-made.  There are dozens of herbivore teeth on wrapped cord tassels suspended from the waxed braided cord wrappings and trim. The wood is decorated in three color red, black, and white paint.  There are tufts of (antelope?) fur and hide at the tips and sides.  There is a smaller attached scabbard for a smaller knife (that knife is no longer present). The scabbard for the sword measures 22-1/2 inches.  The smaller scabbard measures 9 inches long.

The blade measures 13-1/2 inches long and 5-1/4 inches of grip and decorative embellishments.  The grip is also decorated to match the scabbard with fur tuft, scrimshaw and waxed cording.

This appears to date to the 19th century.  The iron is very dark and shows years of age.

The condition is near excellent with deep darkness in the iron blade.

It is a double curve blade with a very sharp needle point and sharp edge. The blade is hammer forged steel showing some traces of rust spotting, with the majority of the blade bright and not polished.

The blade measures 14-3/4 inches long and 5-7/8 inches of wooden grip with carved decorative embellishments that match the fitted wooden scabbard. There is an integral hanging loop and attached twisted cord.

This appears to date to the 19th century.  The iron is slightly dark and shows years of age.

The condition is near excellent except as noted above.

It is a recurved short knife with the outside (long single curve edge) of the blade sharpened.

The knife measures 8-1/2 inches long with 4-1/2 inches of that being the blade and 9-1/2 in the scabbard.  Approximately 1 inch of the handle showing above the fancy woven wood and split cane scabbard.

This appears to date to the 19th century.  The iron is very dark and the brass deeply tarnished and shows years of age.

This is the Left Side out of the scabbard

The condition is near excellent with deep darkness in the iron blade.

It is a simple slightly curved short sword with carved decorations on the both downturned quillons, and fancy carving on both the knuckle bow and grip.  There is a lot of inlay work at the area of the ricasso and langets. It appears to be rendered in low-grade gold with silver inset panels with fancy figures.

The sword measures 28-1/2 inches long and 9-1/2 inches of grip and decorative embellishments extending down 3-1/2 inches of the 22-1/2 inch blade.

This appears to date to the 18th or19th century.  The iron is very dark and the ferrule deeply tarnished and shows years of age.  The gold shows some wear and slight tarnish.

It is a classic design with a flattened diamond cross-section blade, very sharp edges and one-piece construction.

The spearr measures 20-1/2 inches long and 11-7/8 inch blade. The haft portion is also fully etched with decorative embellishments.

The iron is very dark and shows years of age.

The condition is near excellent with deep darkness in the iron blade.

The blade measures 27-1/4 inches tip to the center of the grip. The blade is 1-3/16 inches wide at the top of the guard. It is deeply stamped with the number 1019 in Arabic numbers. The hilt measures 6-1/4 inches from pommel cap to the bird beaks.  These are views of the grip from the right, back and front, showing the twisted pair wire and teak wood grip.

It measures 33 inches overall.

There is no scabbard.

The blade measures 16-3/4 inches tip to the center of the grip. The blade is 1-1/4 inches wide at the top of the guard. It is a plain unmarked blade with no etching. The hilt measures 6 inches from pommel cap to the hilt.  These are views of the grip from the back and front, showing the splits in the grip.

It measures 33 inches overall.

There is some pitting along the blade from age and minor separations from when it was forged. This sword appears to be well over a hundred years old.

The arrow measures 39-1/2 inches tip to notch. The hand-forged iron tip is 4 inches long and approximately 3/4 inches wide. The feathers measures 11-1/2 inches long. We have several of these arrows, there may be minor cosmetic differences from the one shown.

These is an overall view.

The condition is near excellent with some slight ruffling of the feathers and spotting on the iron arrowhead.

The arrow measures 26 inches tip to notch. The wood is very straight grained and shows no signs of warpage nor is it cut to straighten it.  It is approximately 5/16 inches wide. We have several of these arrows, there may be minor cosmetic differences from the one shown.

The condition is near excellent throughout.

This exact sword is identified on the scabbard as once belonging to Teo. G. Advincula. 1st Lt. Inf. OCCA for Capiz & Romblon.  Teofilo Advincula was a Filipino who joined the Resistance against the Japanese invaders in 1942 at the age of 17.  He later joined the US Army to fight the Japanese in the Philippines and Guam following the liberation of the Philippines in October, 1944. After the war, he left the army to attend the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy. He rejoined the US military by enlisting in the US Navy.  He served 21 more years, retiring in 1971 as a Chief Petty Officer.  He was honored in 2005 at the age of 80, being one of the last surviving Resistance Fighters.  This is a photo of him receiving a US flag in his honor. The blade measures 19 inches tip to the center of the grip. It is 1-1/8 inches wide at the top of the guard.  The blade is 2-1/4 inches wide. It measures 27-1/2 inches overall.

The ferrule is split on one side of the grip. The blade has nicks and parry marks along the edge, and there is some darkness present.67777

The blade measures 16-3/4 inches tip to the center of the grip. It is 7/8  inches wide at the top of the guard.  The blade is 1-1/2 inches wide.  There is a two-step false edge extending 4-1/4 inches from the tip. It measures 23 inches overall.

These are close-ups of the handle right and left views. The handle is typical of the Dyak Mandau, being a grotesquely distorted head with tufts of hair decorations.

The scabbard is also typical, being carved wood held together with split cane and hide wrap, as shown.

The blade measures 27 inches tip to the center of the grip. It is 6-1/2 inches wide at the top of the guard.  The blade is 2-1/2 inches wide.  The gold wire inlay runs 11 inches long and varies in width from 1/2 to 4 inches. It measures 33-1/2 inches overall.

This is either a long knife or a short sword.

The blade measures 13-3/4 inches tip to the center of the grip. It is 6-1/2 inches wide at the top of the guard.  The blade is 1 inch wide at the fuller.   It measures 18 inches overall.

This is the right side of the kris. The fancy scabbard is fitted to the knife and completely engraved by hand with birds and flowers motif.

This short sword is sharp only on one side (the long straight edge). The blade is a folded Damascus style metal.

The blade measures 19 inches tip to the center of the grip. It is 23-1/2 inches long overall.  The blade is 7/8 inch wide at the grip.   It measures 24 inches long overall in the scabbard.

The scabbard is perfectly fitted to the sword.

The single-edge blade measures 7 inches tip to the collar of the grip. It is 3/4 inches wide at the top of the guard.  There is a long stylized dragon on the left side of the blade and some markings (unreadable) on the right side of the blade.

The condition is near excellent, with some minor tarnish from age.

The double-edge blade measures 3-1/4 inches tip to the spine at the grip. It is 3/4 inches wide at the top of the guard.  This is a view of the other side of the blade and scabbard.

The condition is near excellent, with the exception of a small crack in the ring that does not go all the way through.

This is a very unusual spear point.  It has a Java design (perhaps Moro), definitely South Pacific origin.  The blade is difficult to date, but is most certainly early 19th or possibly 18th century.

The blade has nearly identical design, featuring a winged dragon with a shaft rising from its head supporting a large crown with cross and standard with tassel (possibly Dutch influence in the design of the crown).

The blade measures 8-1/2 inches tip from the stop to the tip. It is 1-1/8 inches wide at the thickest part of the leaf shaped blade.  The shaft is 5-1/2 inches long and has a noticeable drill twist at the end to screw the shaft into a socket of the spear to retain it.  It measures 14 inches overall.

There is no scabbard or spear shaft.

This is an unusually large size display.  The smaller ones (about half this size) are a little more common.  The shield shaped display board measures nearly 18 by 24 inches.

The weapons are made of steel cut from beer cans and fitted with bamboo shafts on the longer pieces (spears and arrows) and teak wood handles on the blade weapons.  All blades are secured by hand formed beercan collars.

The blades measure about 4 to 5-1/2 inches long overall. The spears are about 9 inches long.

The condition is near excellent throughout.

This is an old design typical of the Spanish Navy during the 16th century. It is short with a deep belly and a slight curve with a thick percussion and a very sharp edge. The sword appears to have been modified from a traditional cutlass guard to a more abbreviated version for land carry by a conquistador.  It is slightly point heavy, balancing about 5 inches forward of the ricasso.  There are no maker marks present, it shows signs of frequent sharpening, and the hammer forging is evident all along the blade. The grip and guard are shown here left and right.

The blade measures 20 inches tip to the grip. The entire sword is 25-1/2 inches long overall.

There is no scabbard present.

This is an old design typical of the Spanish Navy during the 16th century. It has an asymmetrical blade design with the bottom curve having a more pronounced hook shape than the top of the blade. The spike has a flattened tip, either by design or impact with armor.  The head is pinned to the wedge through one side, the wedge oriented perpendicular to the blade.  There are no maker marks present, it shows signs of frequent use, and the hammer forging is evident all along the blade. The forged iron head is shown here left and right.

The blade measures 4 inches top to the bottom and the head is 7 inches overall including the spike. The entire ax is 20 inches long overall.

This is an older design than currently seen in that there is not a blade guard fashioned on the handle, there is only a simple brass ferrule.

The blade measures 5-3/4 inches tip to the grip. It has writing and engraved scrollwork on one side.  The other side of the blade shows some moderate pitting from age. The entire knife is 10 inches long overall.

There is a traditional scabbard that is original to the knife.

The blade measures 9-3/4 inches tip to the grip. The bone is 5-1/2 inches long. It measures 15-1/4 inches overall.

There is no scabbard.

The blade measures 11 inches overall.  Grip measures 4 inches.  There is no scabbard.

Condition is good.

The dagger measures 9-3/4 inches tip to the pommel. The handle is 3-3/4  inches long. The blade measures 6 inches long.

The sword measures 23 inches tip to the pommel nut. The handle is 5  inches long. The blade measures 17-5/8 inches long. There is a single wide 11 inch fuller on each side There are no maker marks. It is dark from age.

The blade measures 14-1/4 inches tip to the leather buffer. The wooden grip is 4 inches long. The brass knuckle bow measures 5-3/4 inches overall.

The condition is very used, with vestiges of old etching on portions of the blade.

It measures 14-3/4 inches long with a 10-1/4 inch blade.

The condition is near good overall per the image furnished.

There is no scabbard.

This is a heavy solid MOP handle 9-1/2 inch long dagger with 5-3/4 inch diamond cross section double edge blade with 2 inch steel crossguard.

The condition is generally near excellent, as shown.

There is no scabbard.

The blade measures 3 inches tip to the grip. The wooden grip is 4-1/2 inches long. It measures 7-5/8 inches overall.

There is no scabbard.

The blade measures 6 inches tip to the grip. The wooden grip (right -- left) is 4 inches long. It measures 10-1/4 inches overall.

There is no scabbard.

The blade measures 7-1/4 inches tip to the grip, with a triple fuller on one side of the blade only. There is a slight clip point which is sharpened on one side, the same as the rest of the blade.  The back side is flat.  There are three maker marks (all the same) of a sun low on the horizon. The ivory grip (right -- left) is 6 inches long including the iron collar. It measures 13-1/4 inches overall.

This knife is from the very northern northwest coast, likely in the Alaska region.

There is no scabbard.

The blade measures 5-3/8 inches tip to the grip, with a diamond shaped double edge design. The design is a long throwing spear with typical Northwest Coast style Native American wrapping. The bone grip has iron guard and cap with leather buffers and a 3-5/8 inches long bone grip. It measures 9-3/4 inches overall.

This knife is from the very northern northwest coast, likely in the British Columbia/Alaska region.

There is no scabbard.

The blade measures 6-3/4 inches tip to the grip. The wooden grip and scabbard (right -- left -- front) is completely covered with brightly colored  beads.  The beads are silk thread sewn.

It measures 15-1/2 inches overall.

There is some minor damage to the beadwork in several places that requires attention.  The blade is dark from age.

It is styled after an older WWII era Randall design.  This one has a jMt maker mark on the blade.  It has a rolled false edge that is medium sharp. It has not been ground to razor sharpness.

The blade measures 13 inches tip to the grip. The ivory grip is 4 inches long. It measures 18-1/2 inches overall. It has brass pommel and crossguard.  There is a brass insert in the grip for personalization. It has not been engraved.

There is a custom made fitted leather scabbard.

It is styled after an older Victorian era corset busk stiletto design.  This one has a "M" maker mark on the blade.  It has a very sharp point and edges that are medium sharp. It has not been ground to razor sharpness.

The blade measures 8 inches tip to the grip. The MOP and STERLING silver content marked grip is 3-3/4 inches long. It measures 8 inches overall. It has a highly polished steel crossguard.

There is a custom made fitted back cross-stitched leather scabbard.

It is styled after the Japanese tanto.  It has a very sharp point and edges that are medium sharp. It has not been ground to razor sharpness.

The blade measures 5-1/4 inches tip to the grip. The wood pinned grip is 4-1/2 inches long. It measures 10-1/2 inches overall. It has a highly polished steel crossguard. 

This is a close-up views of the front and rear of the grip.

This is a thoughtfully designed Damascus pattern weld knife with a long ricasso to protect the finger without the necessity of a guard and deep file scallops for the thumb along the back of the knife.  It has a very sharp point and front edge that is quite sharp. The false edge is present but has not been ground to razor sharpness. There are no maker marks.

The blade measures 4-1/2 inches tip to the grip. The pinned horn grips are 3-7/8 inches long. It measures 8-1/4 inches overall. It has a highly polished steel crossguard. There is a nice fitted heavily embossed pattern leather scabbard with this knife.

The crossguard is styled similar to a Gil Hibbon knife.  It is not maker marked.

The blade measures 9-1/2 inches tip to the grip. The crossguard is 5 inches long. It measures 15-1/2 inches overall. It has a highly polished steel crossguard, pommel and blade.

The Maschinengewehr 08, or MG08, was the German Army's standard machine gun in World War I and is an almost direct copy of Hiram S. Maxim's original 1884 Maxim Gun.  This is a solid steel model, with incredible detail.  It is very realistic-looking (except for the size) and virtually indistinguishable from the full-size model except under the closest examination.  Many images of different parts of the model are shown to give a sense of the craftsmanship and detail of this superlative scale model.

The gun measures 18-3/4 inches muzzle of the non-functional suppressor to the grips. The mount and shields are included and equally detailed.

The condition is near excellent throughout. There is some minor wear to the paint on the shield and other parts from routing handling and display. There are a couple of minor chips to the black enamel paint (easily restorable).

It is styled after the famed British suppressed (silenced) SOE commando submachine gun of WWII.  This is a solid steel model, with incredible detail.  It is very realistic-looking (except for the size) and virtually indistinguishable from the full-size model except under the closest examination.  Many images of different parts of the model are shown to give a sense of the craftsmanship and detail of this superlative scale model.

The gun measures 19 inches muzzle of the non-functional suppressor to the butt of the welded metal loop stock. The detachable stick magazine is 5 inches long and has one dummy cartridge.

It is styled after the famed Springfield Model 1903 Rifle.  This is a solid steel and polished wood model, with incredible detail.  It is very realistic-looking (except for the size) and virtually indistinguishable from the full-size model except under the closest examination. Even the bolt safety works!  Many images of different parts of the model are shown to give a sense of the craftsmanship and detail of this superlative scale model.

Even the lever safety works!  Many images of different parts of the model are shown to give a sense of the craftsmanship and detail of this superlative scale model.

The rifle measures 21 inches muzzle to butt plate.

It is styled after the famed Stevens Models 17-29 "FAVORITE" Rifle.  This is a solid steel and polished wood model, with incredible detail.  It is very realistic-looking (except for the size) and virtually indistinguishable from the full-size model except under the closest examination. Every part works, with the exception of the scope sight, which does not have glass optics installed.  Several images of different parts of the model are shown to give a sense of the craftsmanship and detail of this superlative scale model.

The condition is near good throughout. The nickel plate is mostly worn off the brass scabbard, and the enamel on the grip shows significant wear. The rings are missing, but the two mounts are present and intact.

Miniature German USA Officer Sword

This is 1/4 scale model of the straight blade variant of the Model 1903 Army Officer's sword.  It is a MINIATURE, and has a suburb level of detail and shows high quality workmanship throughout.

The blade is not maker marked, however the scabbard is stamped GERMANY on the drag.  The blade is plain with long fullers on both sides, as shown. No sword knot is present.

The steel blade measures 7 inches long and it is 9-3/8 inches long (in the scabbard) overall. There are some minor bends and wavers in the blade that could be worked out.

The condition is near good throughout. The scabbard is very good condition, and the enamel on the grip shows significant wear. The single ring  mount and ring present and intact.

Miniature Japanese Sword Set with Wood Display Rack

This is 1/3 scale model of the short blade Katana sword.  It is a MINIATURE, and has a suburb level of detail and shows high quality workmanship throughout.

The 3 inch blade of the small tanto is maker marked JM and serial numbered 012.  The blade is plain with a single sharp edges, as shown. It measures 5 inches overall. The katana has an etched "temper line" on the 5-1/4 inch blade. It measures 12-1/2 inches long overall  The fittings and furniture are very well executed, with cords and tassels.

The wooden display rack measures 7-1/4 inches long by 2-1/2 inches deep at the base.  It is 3-1/4 inches high. This is an overall view of the rack with the swords in place.

Miniature Japanese Yari Spear with Wood and brass fitted shaft.

This is 1/4 scale model of the short shaft yari.  It is a MINIATURE, and has a suburb level of detail and shows high quality workmanship throughout.

The 1-1/2 inch blade of the diamond cross-section style yari is highly polished and sharp on two sides. It measures 8-1/2 inches overall. This is a side view of the yari.

Miniature Salesman Sample GARZA Machete in Original Box

This is 1/3 scale model of the classic machete design.  It is a MINIATURE, and has a suburb level of detail and shows very high quality workmanship throughout.

The blade is maker marked GARZA (probably Venezuela).  The blade is plain with a single sharp edge of highly polished stainless steel, as shown. The original Salesman's Sample sticker is present.
